Alyx is a Filipino documentary filmmaker and producer. Her debut feature documentary ASWANG screened all over the world and received the critics prize at IDFA, the grand prizes at Montreal International Documentary Festival, DMZ Documentary Festival in South Korea, and Film Festival Dokumenter Jogjakarta. It also won the Amnesty International Award at Thessaloniki, FDCP's Camera Obscura Artistic Excellence award, and many more. In the Philippines, it won Best Film, Documentary, Editing, and Cinematography at Gawad Urian Awards, the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences FAMAS Awards, and the Society of Filipino Film Reviewers, as well as a Gawad Urian recognition for Best Director. 
Alyx completed a Master's degree in Documentary Film Directing at Docnomads in Portugal, Hungary, and Belgium. She studied at the University of the Philippines Film Institute and the Philippine High School for the Arts, and is an alumna of Berlinale Talents Docstation, IDFAcademy, Talents Tokyo, and Docs by the Sea.
