Alyx Ayn Arumpac is a nonfiction filmmaker and producer. Her first feature-length documentary Aswang (2019), about Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's drug war in Manila, screened around the world and earned 25 awards, including the FIPRESCI Prize at IDFA, the Grand Prize at Montreal International Documentary Festival, the Grand Prize at the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival in South Korea, Best International Feature at Festival Film Dokumenter Jogjakarta, the Amnesty International Award at Thessaloniki. It is the first documentary to win the grand prizes at both the 44th Gawad Urian Awards and the 68th FAMAS Awards in the Philippines.
She received a Master's degree in documentary film directing through the Docnomads Erasmus Mundus Joint Master program in Portugal, Hungary, and Belgium, and studied at the University of the Philippines and the Philippine High School for the Arts. 
Formerly a current affairs producer, she has directed and produced award-winning docs for local and international broadcasters alongside her independent work.
She is based between Berlin and Manila.
