Alyx Ayn Arumpac is an independent documentary filmmaker and producer. Her debut feature documentary ASWANG screened all over the world and received the critics prize at IDFA, the grand prizes at Montreal International Documentary Festival, DMZ Documentary Festival in South Korea, and Film Festival Dokumenter Jogjakarta. It received the Amnesty International Award at Thessaloniki, FDCP's Camera Obscura Artistic Excellence award, and won Best Film, Documentary, Editing, and Cinematography at the Gawad Urian Awards, the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards, and the Society of Filipino Film Reviewers. She is also Gawad Urian Best Director awardee. Her work has been supported by the IDFA Bertha Fund, Aide aux cinémas du monde, Sundance Institute, Berlinale World Cinema Fund, Doha Film Institute, Purin Pictures, and more.
Alyx is an alumna of Docnomads, the University of the Philippines Film Institute, and the Philippine High School for the Arts. Participated at Berlinale Talents Docstation, IDFAcademy, Talents Tokyo, and Docs by the Sea. Alongside her independent work, she also produces and directs documentaries for broadcast.
