Alyx Ayn Arumpac is a nonfiction filmmaker and producer born in the southern Philippines. Her debut film Aswang received 25 international awards, including the critics’ prize at IDFA and the grand prizes at RIDM, DMZ, Thessaloniki, and Yogyakarta. In the Philippines, it is the first documentary to win Best Film at both Gawad Urian and the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences awards. Alyx is an alumna of the DocNomads European Joint Master in Documentary Production, the UP Film Institute and the Philippine High School for the Arts. She divides her time between Berlin and Manila.
